Adventure At The Airport
It all started at the airport. I was at the baggage claim, looking for my leather suitcase and a small parcel wrapped in plain brown paper. I had bought this parcel along with me as a gift for my six-year-old cousin, for whom I was going to be flying to Ohio to visit in about three hours. Inside was a teddy bear that I knew he would love. I squinted, trying to see if my parcel was coming towards me when I saw a tall, glamorous-looking woman. She wore a black evening gown and donned long diamond earrings and black satin gloves. I scratched my head in confusion. Why would someone wear such a fancy outfit to the airport? I wondered.
As I watched, the woman quickly grabbed a box from the baggage claim and broke into a run. I watched in shock and amazement, before realizing that she had grabbed a box wrapped in plain brown paper—my box! “Hey, lady! Come back! That’s my box!” I yelled.
“Come and get it!” she shouted and laughed maniacally. She hopped into an awaiting black limousine and sped off. I ran out of the airport and stared for a moment, stunned, before finally coming back to my senses. I saw a cop standing nearby and I called to him.
“Hey, that lady stole my parcel from the baggage claim!” I yelled. But I knew that I had to follow the limousine myself. “Taxi!” I yelled. “Follow that limousine!”
I jumped into the taxi and sped off in pursuit of the limousine. I noticed that the lady was intentionally taking many turns to throw us off, but my taxi driver and I still followed her. After about five minutes, she slowed down. It turned out, her limousine had run out of gas! She tried to open the door, but several police cars suddenly surrounded the car!
“Put your hands up and step out of the car!” shouted an officer. After the arrest, I learned that this woman was a kleptomaniac, which meant she had an irresistible urge to steal items. She was infamous for stealing things from baggage claims, shops, and many more places and selling them online. The expensive and fancy clothes that she was wearing were clothes that she had stolen. I was happy that my adventure had ended successfully before I realized that not only did I owe my taxi driver lots of money, but I had also left my leather suitcase at the airport.
